CHAPTER 1

                                                   OPENING

A.  Background

I lift theme Japanesse because I think Japanesse is important, without them we don’t know about military. And also they left something to us that we use until know, this is uniform in school. Beside that Japanesse has many cultures and good principles & ethics as their guideline for life. And I hope we can follow the principle of Japanesse in our dialy life.

B.   Problems

1.      How is the story of Japenesse colonial?

CHAPTER 2

A. Japanesse History

1. Story of Japanesse colonial

            Since 1942 Holland hadn’t been in Indonesia. Holland was losed by Japan. After helping our country to chase Holland, our society believe that Japan will creat prosperity like their promise in Gerekan Tiga A : Nippon Light of Asia, Nippon Protector of Asia, Nippon Leader of Asia. But actually in Japanesse Colonial era was full with sorrow than before. They had pourpused to use our nature resource as their weapon to war with Allied. Japan had many steps to exploit our nature resource and our society. For example they did romusha to our society, they commanded to our society to build road as acces to war, build some places to save their weapons and others. But actually romusha wasn’t proporsional with their promise before, our society treated as animal, Japan didn’t give some food to the labour, they had to work everytime without took a rest, Japan didn’t give guarantee about their healthy. So many labours died because this policy.

            But beside that Japan had created some organizations like PETA (Pembela Tanah Air), Heiho (Barisan pembantu Prajurit Jepang), Seinendan (Barisan Pemuda), Fujinkai (Barisan Wanita), Keibodan (Barisan pembantu Polisi), and still many others, altought this organization had pourposed to help Japan in war with Allied, But this Orgnization gave an adventage to our nation, our nation that colonized bafore, now known about military.

            Japan left Indonesia when Allied overthrow atomic bom in Hiroshima and Nagasaki at 6 August 1945 and 9 August 1945, So Our Nation use this time to declare our Freedom at 17 August 1945.

            In above is short story about Japanesse Colonial Era, but from this history let’s take the good side, shall we?

2. Relic Culture of Japanesse:

a.       The word of NAMA: In Japan to say someone’s name use word Namae, for example Watashi no namae wa Itadaki, And in Indonesia to say someone’s name use Nama, so it means that this is the relic of Japan

b.      Forming a Line : Forming a line is the basic of military, but we always have Forming a line competititon when we celebrated our independent day, Without Japan’s Organization maybe our nation don’t know about this

c.       Unifrom : We’re as student of course everyday we use uniform, actually do you know where the uniform it self from? Uniform came from Japanesse culture, before Japanesse era, our nation school used free clothes or traditional clothes, but after Japanesse era our nation studied to use uniform, because Japan had policy that, all of student had to use uniform when they studied.

This is just a half of Japanesse relic, now let’s know the beautiful of Japan

3. Japanesse Profile

Japan or usually we called with Sakura’s Country Located in East Asia, Japan has 3000 little island, and 4 big island like Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Nara was capital City of Japan, and then moved to Kyoto but after that moved to Tokyo until know.

a). Religious and Belief

The original belief in Japan is Shinto, it was be a national religious at 1868-1945, and they worshiped to holy soul that called with “Kami”. On 6 Century Buddha came to Japan from India. And on 1549 a Christian that carried by St. Francis Xavier came to Japan.

b). Economic

The growth of Japan Economic is fast in the world, they get rank 2 in the world on Economic side. Their free market and industrialization is the big 3 after USA and Tiongkok. They have power at Industrialization side, but low in agriculture, distribution, and service. There is some sectors in Japan:

1.      Industry Sector

2.      Agriculture Sector

3.      Fishery Sector

4.      Mining Sector

c). Politic

Government System of Japan is Monarchy Constitusional, wich is limited the power of the King (Kaisar). The Country is controlled by Prime Minister and helped by Parliament. The society of Japan have voting right when they were 20^th years old.

Actually Japan had been ever collapes after Hiroshima & Nagasaki tragedy. It killed all of sector in Japan, ‘cause of this case many poverties had happened anywhere. Japan couldn’t fulfill their need, and the running of economic was stopped. But it didn’t make they gave up, exactly they were more spirit to be a better country again. They began to build their country from zero, thus made they were a great country like now. Japan can be great country because they have principle.

B. Japanesse Ethics & Principle

1.    Japanesse Principle

a)     Discipline

It must done for everyone in Japan, they said that with discipline everything will passed without trobel. There are many kinds of discipline like, discipline of time, discipline of told, or discipline of money. For example, when they had war, they didn’t leave their position without command, they prefer suicided to give up.

b)    Hard Work

Most of the people in Japan balieve that hard work is their God. If they don’t have the spirit like this they will die. With hard work every problem can solved without luckiness. According to them hard work is from spirit, spirit to sacrifice time, power or money.

c)     Honest

Honest is the main principle to get credibility. With this principle they feel very needed by another people, and they won’t betray it. Cause of this the dedication of task will be done perfectly.

2.    Japanesse Etics

a)     Guest Etics

When we invited to come in, put of jacket is better and the put of shoes in platfrom (genkan). Every guest must use casual shoe in the room, and sit whit one’s knees bent and the feet behind (seiza). Don’t visit in meal time, but if you visit and they ask you to have eat together don’t reject it.

b)    Eat Etics

The main etics here is before have an eat they always say “itadakimasu” and after finish eat they say “gochisou sama desitha. But there is something that should noticed:

·         We may not make noise when eat

·         We must expend the food to respect the owner

·         Don’t put forearm on the table, but enough on wrist

c)     Work Etics

Japanesse people never claim the increasing of salary, they believe with hard work they can get more income. They never moved to another company even though their company become bankrupt. They tend to support their company and always loyal to their leader. Japanesse people doesn’t like individualism, because it can creat imbalance situation among the labour. If they want to succes they must do together. This is their principle

C. Japanesse Culture

1.    The Unique Figure in Japan

a.     Yakuza

Yakuza that known in this era is Japan’s mafia, with tattoo in their body. And their job is as a body guard, have a gambling place. But for Japanesse people they just public rubbish. Actually, Yakuza was Samurai (Ronin) that apper in Tokugawa era. But, because there was a war it became them as servant (shogun) bacause they lost their bos.

b.     Otaku

Otaku is a community that has same hobby. The name of Otaku given to they that anime and manga lover. Otaku has positive and negative meaning, it called negative because most of them was fanatic and and they are rarely interact to society. But they called positive bacause they have high knowledge so they can called as an expert.

c.      Geisha

Geisha is a woman that has high grade as a woman. They were included in a dorm and educated about dance, played traditional music, singing, used kimono, and many other. There was a grade on gaishe, and every grade had different duty to serve the guest. They can found on culture show. But their reputation decreased because of Europe people when they colonized Japan. Baside that, there is a caracter like Geisha that is Meiko. Their appearing same with Geisha but they used more powder to hide their age. But most of Society has negative sense to Meiko, they think that Meiko is naughty girl.

There are many festival in Japan like Matsuri festival, but most of their festival depend on the season.

CHAPTER 3

Suggestion and Conclusion

A.  Suggestion

After reading the paper above, we’re as a young generation of this country we must have spirit to built this country more better, we have to use as an example what the principle of Japanesse people, their etics, and their attitude in the work. They can be develope country becuase their hard work. Let’s use the time as good as possible, shall we? With hard work, honest, and dicipline let’s make a change starting from ourselves.

B.   Conclusion

Japan is the little country than our country, but they more develope than us, they began to built again after their failure in World War II. Why can they built their country faster? Because they have good principle as their guideline that is: hard work, honest, and dicipline. And they have some Etics too in their life. Even though they were colonize our country but, we can follow their principle applied in our dialy life. So we can increase our nationalism without laeving our destination.
